Why do we must be sitting on a dock while a lumper company do the break-in? If they receive the load in good order and quantity, they must release the truck and do the break-in in they on time, for a ####ing misery of a detention pay than most of the time we dont get it, isnt worth it to be sitting in a dock for three hours after they have unload the truck.
We must begin a national campaign against the lumpers company who do that, if they dont agree, then we must stop going to this places, time is to valuable to be losing it just for the heck of it, especially now a days with the eld's.

Not getting rid of crap drives as long as big companies hire them, crap drives got nothing to do also with lumpers companies working on our time.

Well yep it does, the less drivers we have, the better it is for us, the more leverage we have to fight these little things.

Lumbers are part of the servicing we do for the people that pay us, but as x1 said he stopped dealing with it by going to different freight. My drivers have to deal with lumpers or I give them the option to unload it themselves and get paid but I also complain about it to the company and demand more money.

    D.Tibbitt and x1Heavy Thank this.

I know this will go over like a fart in church, but the lumpers are paid to do the drivers job. With a few exceptions these food warehouses don’t employ anyone to unload trucks. A few places still have signs up saying unloading is the drivers responsibility you may hire a lumper if you choose. I actually prefer the days before capstone, premier and such. When the lumpers where standing at the gate, and you could negotiate a price.

In the reefer world that’s part of the game. I’m sitting at a cold storage in Dallas now detention starts in 45min and one truck in front of me.
