Why? I kind of like this Russian dude...I could drink some vodka with him. At least, he seems to know how to be in the game of heavy haul. I watched some of his videos of load securement. Found them instructional... He seems devoted, a sort of philosopher too.

I’ll admit I like the newer automatics that shift seemlessly and without lurching. But in the winter I feel better with a stick. These automatics don’t like rolling out a slick spot.

I’m going to assume that he’s gained knowledge since the time he first started posting videos. I haven’t watched any of his videos in quite some time, but when he first started posting he cut a ton of corners and was posting videos like he was an authority on heavy haul.

And to the guy asking about inserts, on a 305” truck that will only see 80k gross doing regular truckload stuff I would probably want a sleeve from the back of the sleeper to the middle of your drives.

A wire brush definitely works off shore when I was in the diving industry we wire brushed everything and coated with never seize on basically anything metal not sure if it’s the same with a truck tho this was also done way to often due to the salt water I would like a more long term solution

I been pondering a while on that subject. Aftermarket rails you can get 1/2” thick singles. But to my knowledge, no oem offers that option. Galvanized has come up a couple times in my thinking. Just yesterday @PoleCrusher was talking about nickel plating.

I think the overall idea, is try to prep the surface with something thick and durable when it’s all exposed, then put it together. And expect to do that prolly every 7/8 years if you run in salt.

cke, PoleCrusher, snowman_w900 and 2 others Thank this.
