Nice! Did you research which skirts would be better? Also, is there a significance to your unit numbering system?

I hope it works out well for you.

It is supposed to extend to the rear bumper. They put a standard length on it. He is working on getting the rest of the panels in. I also like this one because it’s more durable.
No real significance. I wanted it to have an extra digit than the truck. Bought it in 2019 and the first one so 19101.

Once I got my deposit back and trade in money, I paid off my outstanding debt. Only debt I have now is the equipment. Feels good to see all those balances at zero. I had some leftovers on the corporate card and my credit line was used for the deposit on the trailer. All taken care of now.
I’m hoping to wrap this up today with the reefer so I can leave and load something late tonight and leave out early tomorrow.

Foiled again. That’s twice now they forgot to ship my tracking unit for the reefer. They shipped it finally, overnight priority. Stuck here again. I want everything done so I don’t have anything important to hurry back for.

Tug Toy and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Do you need a tracking unit for a one man company? How does that work?

    Tug Toy Thanks this.

It saved me one cargo claim since I’ve had it. Tried to hit me on a load of mushrooms one time. I had my temperature data thanks to that unit and they dropped their BS over it. It’s a great tool.

Oh OK. So I take it it's not used for your customers to track you in real time(?)

(You'll have to forgive me for the basic questions, but I've never worked for a dedicated reefer service.)

No. It’s from ORBCOMM. It displays temp and location data I can access on my phone and download to send to a customer if they require temperature records. It’s helpful if someone is trying to blame you for something and you can show them that your unit did what it was supposed to do. There is one broker I pull for occasionally that requires a temperature log on every load. Also helpful if I drop my trailer at a meat plant and can look where it’s at and if it’s running. You could pay extra for all the privileges to send remote commands and stuff, but I don’t need that right now.

You mean you could control the unit remotely; setting temperatures and shutting it on and off?
That's good. I remember myself taking trips to the yard over some weekends only to have a peace of mind that reefer was still running.
This would be a must have for me.
