I'll leave my two cents worth, new to the industry and I started with Roehl. When they tried to screw me on my training because I was not calling in for those stupid modules they have I jumped ship.

Those modules after the first week only repeat and have nothing to do with helping drive the rig. Had an excellent trainer and they moved me to another trainer.

As for Western, after orientation they gave me a 2019 International with 30 miles on it and I hit the road. Now have 32,000 plus miles no damage to the truck like I have seen on some Western trucks.

They are a good starter company and a good second chance company. I came to them because I need the seat time and the experience.

I take my time, do my pre and post trips and report any issues that come up. I have a slight advantage over some of the other drivers being that I have worked on cars, trucks and boats for the past 35 years.

So to the ones that bash the company just because you had a bad time doesn't mean that everyone else will or could it just be you?????

Most sensible post I've seen on here regarding helping new drivers.

One more question regarding Western Express. Do they give you a drivers manual? and their truck speed is set at 65 right?

    Thanks

When I worked for them they did give out drivers manual at orientation. The trucks they gave me went 63 on the pedal,65 on the cruise.

    Rocknroller4 Thanks this.

Yes and no, yes if you do everything through the Qualcomm system. No if you go through the Western Express app, you can reject a load.

    Rocknroller4 Thanks this.
