Maybe he can just knock a couple thousand off the price? Too be honest that rear wheel cover panel to the back is not very easy on the eyes.

However, that’s not my call and it’s your fuel mileage. I do think it looks great as is.

Wow I did not realize they could float. You could go across Michigan Lake and skip all that Gary - Chicago traffic.

I wouldn't. I'm all for fuel economy and aero improvements but that looks like will trap a thousand+ lbs of snow and ice during the first storm. That's more weight to pull and potential rubbing resistance against the tires. Plus it makes visual inspections and maintenance very difficult - unless it's hinged.

    That's just my opinion. Ymmv.

It’s hinged. The whole bubble section lifts up. It would be in the same dark gray color like what I have now.

One downside of the trailer fairings is it really cuts into the cooling of your brakes.

If your brakes need to be cooled that badly, it might be time to reevaluate driving habits.

    Cool running Webb drum

    Posted: January 30, 2017
The brakes on trailers with side skirts are feeling the heat, but Webb Wheel has unveiled brake drums with Cool Running Technology vents to help keep operating temperatures under control.

[IMG]The 66764 brake drum is designed for 20K trailer applications.

The challenge of higher heats has emerged because aerodynamic side skirts reduce the usual cooling flow of air by 41% in the direction of travel, and 30% across the width of the trailer, Webb tests have found. Temperatures were seen to hit 250 Fahrenheit. And those high heats can accelerate the wear of drums and linings.

The 99-pound drum manages heat 10% better than drums of a similar weight, the company adds.

“This is the number-one trailer application,” says Brad Begley, vice president sales – aftermarket business unit, referring to the 10 million trailers across North America that could use these drums.

I put those on my trailer last summer. I had no idea I thought it was for letting dust out.

I first learned about it in a Meritor brake training seminar. Topic also came up in Hendrickson training class and they said they do reduce brake life and wheel seal life.
