If you’re not under a load you can use PC but it’s time/mileage limited. I often use it to go eat or grocery shopping.

What about fueling. Do they let you decide where to fuel or are they stifflers about it? I start in Fontana next Weds.

WE usually sends drivers fuel solutions-designed fuel stops along your route. However there are circumstances that you request a change (if you need to refuel sooner). Pilot/Flying J Truck Stops are the only designated refueling stops.

In my experience that is mostly correct. They will send me to TA and to other fuel stops depending on fuel level and location. An example is if you arrive in LA with 2/8 of a tank you’ll be going to Royal or TA/Petro.

A computer generates the fuel solution so often times it’s quite idiotic. Like get 50gal here and then get 75gal in 100 miles. So what I do is look at my fuel level and then pick the spot where I know I’ll have 2/8ths left and as I get within 20 miles of it I just send a new fuel solution request. I make sure that stop is the only TS. That way I can maximize my clock and maximize my P/FJ points and showers.

I forgot to add that part. Sometimes the solution tells you you can top off tanks ,other times it’s a specific amount. Either way you have to be careful, especially if you’re under a heavy load(when you’re pulling a 42-46,000 pound payload sometimes you can’t upload what the fuel solution suggests-especially if you were driving a Volvo, since they had larger fuel tanks). When I worked there every fuel stop I had was a Pilot or Flying J,not a single T/A was involved.

Sounds confusing. I hope it's not as crazy stressful as it sounds. Like what if you're low on gas but pulling 46k? what then?

You’re making this harder than it is.

At anytime if you need fuel you can send Macro 25 “new fuel solution request”. They will route you to the nearest TS to get fuel. It’s easy.

    Rocknroller4 Thanks this.

Like I said sometimes you have to watch how much fuel you take on. There are times (then and now) I’ve calculated how much fuel I take on (down to the half gallon sometimes, calculator and all) to keep the truck running and get thru the scales at the same time(especially in Virginia,North Carolina,Florida and Ohio, just for a few examples).
Serious numbers crunching that most drivers would overlook and just “run with it”!

Heck no. I quit those bozos in 2015.

Was sick and tired of hauling short loads of cardboard and hay. I wanna have a sandwich and relax, not get hay all over my friggin slippers.
