I've applied to CNTL 6 times. They won't even call me back. Of course this was when I was still greener than grass -
I just reviewed their FB O/O page, and the strikes that went on over working conditions. I guess local jobs, are still slave shows like they were in 2016. -
It would probably be more productive if you guys framed your complaints around things like wages, working conditions, driving experience etc., rather than skin colour. I'm not trying to pluck a fight: I'm saying that it strengthens your arguments and actually clarifies your thoughts on cntl.
stacks Thanks this. -

I am upset when I routinely have to take evasive action to avoid a wreck, and when I say I notice the majority of people taking stupid risks which do in fact lead to lots of huge wrecks, are these new guys ... then I'm somehow racist. That's just me noticing a pattern and saying something. How's that wrong?
Why isn't their insurance out of reach? Why is it legitimate to segregate people by certain measures, but not others? For example: why is it widely accepted that young newly licenced males pay a large premium for insurance compared to their similar aged newly licenced female counterparts? Because the young males will do dumb things behind the wheel, the most common probably being "let's find out how fast dads car will go!". Yet when it comes to trucking, it would not be accepted if we said "you're from a place that doesn't have trucking or laws and regulations like we do, also, your culture of how they drive is vastly different than ours, you ARE more likely to make unwise decisions, which does put you at increased accident risk, therefore, you pay more". Can't have that now can we?
Why do these companies routinely get their authority revoked, then just open up another company, transfer assets, away we go again.? You watch; in Toronto and Surrey are the hot beds for this activity. If you watch you will see this exact practice happening. Usdot numbers just keep going higher. Trucks have the names taken off (can still see old ones) new name on the side. I suppose a new, clean authority is all you need to do to keep operating. Let's not address the root of the problem, the reasons why the authority is continually revoked. Perhaps the way forward is for individual drivers to be refused of insurance. The issue is cultural. The next one comes in repeats same process. So ya, it's a bit frustrating.jimbo47, Phantom Trucker and magoo68 Thank this. -
Gentlemen, here is the deal.
Racial remarks and bigotry are not tolerated here. Identifying a person by headgear that is unique to a particular group of people is bigotry.
I fully understand this is not a popular decision, but it is the one the staff makes.
Going forward, please keep the racial comments and bigotry to yourself.
I also want to make it clear, we do not single people out for rules infractions. We paint with a broad brush. If you violate one of our rules, etc and we see it, we will act upon it. No one is sheltered from that and no one has a target on their back.
To discuss the closing of the thread @HighwaySuperTramp mentioned, yes, I am the one who closed it.
When you want to know about an action that was taken against you, it really is better to discuss it with a moderator in private. Anyone can send a moderator a PM at any time. You may have your ability to send PMs revoked, but you can still send the staff a message.
Sometimes the moderator who removes or edits a post doesn't tell you it happened, hoping you won't notice and the problem will go away. To the much greater extent, you are sent an alert (you will see it as a notification) advising why an action was taken. Again, SuperTramp did the right thing. He sent a message asking why something was done.3noses, not4hire, magoo68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Does anyone know how well maintained their chassis are? They look a heck of a lot better than many others.
HighwaySuperTramp and BigHossVolvo Thank this.
