Coming out from my neighbourhood this morning, saw this truck and something looked weird about it. It did not have mirrors!

Followed him to their office building (only half a mile away from my place) to take a closer look. Driver could not tell me anything, just said to look it up online.

One of those new all electric trucks coming out is supposed to be the same way. I guess if the system crashes you have bigger things to worry about than your mirrors.

The FMCSA recently gave approval for this equip. They are used in Europe. They do a lot more than replace just 2 mirrors.
And to answer the question what happens when they take a dump? Well with all the new technology on trucks specifically emissions which do the same, that is why we have shoulders on the roadsAnother Canadian driver, scythe08 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I hope freightliner has put more thought into keeping the camera lenses clean than they have into keeping my real mirrors from getting half the spray from my washer fluid.
Phoenix Heavy Haul, CassND, BobO1176 and 10 others Thank this. -
I’m trying to get those on my truck. There is a company that partnered with Stoneridge to roll out this technology. I’m only one truck, so it’s hard to keep them in touch, but I’m working on it. It is available though for anybody right right now. Just don’t expect a quick turnaround.

those sensors can still be knocked off by some dummy backing next to you at the truck stop, or at the loading dock next to you. then, that'll be one heck of an expense, and where do you go and buy a replacement, if you need one, cuz someone knocked it off..???
i doubt any truck stop will have those readily available on the shelves....Another Canadian driver and Rideandrepair Thank this.
