The old traditions of taking one's hat off is a sign of respect. This is why in the military they teach soldiers in basic the same thing. Soldiering is an honorable profession and therefore soldiers are expected to have manners and show due respect. You may not be in the military but these manners and traditions were important in cvil society. As the are in the military. Our society today is vulgar and has no respect for anything. This is why we are in the condition we are in today.![]()

Just my personal opinion. I'm from the old school, therefore, that's why I said what I did regarding the wearing of hats indoors. I realize society today accepts/condones things, which, when I was a young whippersnapper, would not have been tolerated.

I'm gonna print T-Shirts for all you hard working Truckers!!!
If your close enough to smell me...
Back the &$#* up!!!
There are those who respect and admire all the men and women who are haulin all of our product across the country and sometimes over the borders of Canada and Mexico...If they don't like the way the roses smell...then they can get the hell out of your garden!!!
Runaway02, DG forever and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
I give that as much regard as the T-shirt I saw a kid wearing in a grocery store line one day the just said in huge letters "F/U" (spelled out).
I made him take it off right there and turn it inside out. I told him I'd break both his arms if he didn't and I meant it.Ducks, henry, TRKRSHONEY and 2 others Thank this. -
I think i just got my new-comers welcome...i was trying to compliment all the hard working truckers out there...Thank you for letting us know that you'd stoop so low as to harm a kid!
-
well thats on the kid, did he think people were gonna read that shirt, smile and wave im pretty young (25 this month)and i have more respect for the common people then he does, i would say that red fox did the kid a favore and did some thing that his daddy should have done. thats just my opinion dont take it to heart.
Crotts Trucking and Ducks Thank this. -
good for you red threatening a kid with "great bodily harm" what a big man you are and something else to think about the next time how many shirt tails got flipped up and a hand went to there hip when you threatened the kid. you know 4 lb of iron to the back of the head or a pair of hollow point to the chest because you were offended by a t shirt isnt very logical to me but hey different strokes for different folks
-
First off, I wouldn't actually break him up. I got mad at him for using the words on his shirt at me when I told him he needed to take it off and reverse it.
Many of you would have responded in kind. And he wasn't some skinny little EMO either; probably weighed near me. My wife (who is a very decent Christian) was with me, other women were in line, and rather than hands to hips, there were mutters of assent.
Had it been my DAD, he would have drug the kid outside and ripped the shirt off of him. Any resistance would have been met with a solid thumping, but that was a different day. I know he would have because he drug a guy out of his chair and made him apologize to my mother in a restaurant for cussing in front of her.
How times have changed. Now people want to protect the offenders.TRKRSHONEY, Ducks, Crotts Trucking and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good for you, Red Fox. The kid needed an attitude adjustment and I -- for one -- am pleased that you let him know it.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
I woulda done the same red, the people who oppose, probably bought there kids the same shirt. IMO kids arent getting that kind of treatment they deserve these days. They are kids, they need to be tought right from wrong.
I saw a kid sitting in a car yesterday at a C-store, 10 feet from the trash can, he opened the door and set a 44 ounce styrofoam cup on the ground, he stared at me, like he knew it was wrong, so I told him he needed to throw it away, he rolled up the window and locked the door.
