I know what he's gonna do now..take out that tape cartridge of Buck Owens and play it again. I don't know why he don't get a Merle Haggard tape!

Soon as I get the barge out of the shop and get head gaskets on the bucket truck that 'ol girl is coming in to get some love.

It only ran 6 or 8 months in my name.....had the kid in it. Shucked the tranny...power divider...back rear twice.... finally cracked the block and the PDI turbo is gonna need replacing.

Hoping we get her fixed up she'll run me into retirement....one way or the other....

Thank ya brother, and everyone else for the flowers. It really means a lot coming from this group. I am just thankful that truckin allows us the opportunity to get some of this forgotten about iron back into shape and back to work.

Hey @ShooterK2 ,@shogun, or any others that can advise on CB related stuff, I have a question and I learned before NEVER to go to the CB forum for help!

We have all the wiring repaired, cab markers replaced etc. and are getting ready to go back in with the insulation and interior on our Old Pete. The cab top on this one is steel. Should I consider mounting a through-the-roof antenna? Because of the oversized load sign that mounts on the front of the headache rack I don't think mounting on the back of the cab above the window is an option.

Prior to dismantling I had the single antenna mounted on the top of the headache rack, but it performed poorly. Could have been a poor antenna, or that the headache rack wasn't well grounded. I don't mind twins on the mirrors except that we seem to get into tree branches quite a bit trying to get into tight job sites and whatnot, but perhaps that is the best option.

Here are a couple of pics of what I am working with:

My suggestion is a predator 10K dual coil short whip on the driver's mirror. It will be about $75, but it is a well built antenna. All of it is threaded and replaceable.

It should tuned out around 50-52 inches total height. It has excellent TX/Rx capabilities. They are available at predator10kdiscountantennas I think.

I think I'm gonna be changing dealerships. Just wasted a half hour on the phone to get mudflaps and anti sails... which I didn't get....they didn't even know what they was.

This stuff was supposed to already be pulled when mama got there. Can anybody just do their f- ing job anymore. Customer service used to be king..
