Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

    Many of the higher level cars in Europe have the battery in the trunk. Not enough space under the hood.
    Several small vans (Peugeot, Citroen, etc) have battery under passenger seat.

    Vito/Viano/V class have the battery under drivers seat.
    In case you don't know that model,it is the van/bus model below the Sprinter.

    You might not believe this but there is hardly any flexing in a EU chassis.
    Short wheelbase+heavy frames.

    Not really.
    There is a big push to keep people in their job.
    Even if extra $$$$ are needed to modify equipement.

    The story off a crane operator comes to mind.
    He had severe neckpain.
    Problems looking up.
    Manager,doctor and operator had several meetings to look for a solution.
    He went back to work after his crane got a special seat.
    Iirc he could hydraulicly tilt the new seat so he could look up and down without bending his neck.

    True, certainly in on-highway trucks.
    But the degrees of flex per meter/foot of frame lenght may not be that different, there's just more feet in the typical NA conventional than in the euro COE.

    Once you start to make lots of torque in smaller gears things start to look different, and even the european frames flex:

    Not really representative for a normal truck, of course......

    Yes. At least the Volkswagen Crafter at work has it under driver seat. Basically same van, but different drive-line, as far as I know.

    Mercedes make narrow flexible frames for spring suspension for better offroad proporties and wide rigid frames for air suspended trucks for road stability....problem become when bodybuilder make wrong body/subframe.....example rigid timber truck with reinforced suspension which is going to be used offroad equipped with rear crane with cab(used to load other trucks) have aluminium subframe....
