    could be 260 x 75 x 6 mm with 8 tonne steer axle, or 260 x 75 x 7 mm for 9 tonne steer axle.

Yes, but your frames are longer. To prevent your frames from twisting too much, they will have to be bigger then 'our' frames.

    daf105paccar and Oxbow Thank this.

Not sure you're logic is correct. I would think twisting is proportional to the incremental length of the frame, i.e. each foot of frame is only going to twist so much regardless the total length of the frame. The frame does probably need to be stronger to support the additional bridge, due to longer wheelbase. Maybe 98989 or KVB can shine some light on this.

When you put torque on a frame, it will twist in a certain number of degrees / length, let's say 0.1° / feet. So with a length of 10 feet, it's 10 x 0.1° = 1°, and with 20 feet it is 2°.

I don't think the additional bridge is a problem, don't forget that the steer axle of an EU truck usually has a much higher load than the steer axle of an US truck.

When you have Deep hub reduction like in the construction versions, there can be a lot of flex, even with the 410 Hp MX engine.
260 mm (10 1/4 in) section is for the regular 4x2 chasis. The 6x4 tractors and the construction rigids with 3 or more axles have 310 mm (12 7/32 in) section for the chasis.

    KVB and daf105paccar Thank this.
