Right or wrong reaching thru the steering wheel with a 2 stick OR a 3 stick was and is how its done.
While at the Cat shop the other day there was a 379 Peterbilt Legacy there that had a 18 speed main 5 speed aux and a 2 speed axel, add all that up and it has 180 gear combos!!! Shame it was a heavy haul truck -

Prime example of how bad habits are made.
Really doesn't matter as long as you can get the load delivered

Ok i did find one where he isnt reaching through the wheel but his levers are in a good location that he dont have to
