I figured it was around the 100% mark. Everything I am seeing tells me the old DPF is fine. but...at this point, who knows! I am just eliminating things now. I am not sure why the dpf pressure sensor would read the dpf as 100% when its clearly not. I did replace the pressure sensor to verify it wasnt that as well.

Well, new DPF and new temp sensors made no difference, except the soot level starts lower than before. This thing wont passive regen. I have to force regen it twice a day to drive it. Here are soot level pics from right after regen, 130 miles later, and the exhaust temp during regen.
Newto Trucking Thanks this. -
Temperature for sure not high enough. 7th injector, turbo, egr stuck slightly open??
-
7th injector adaptive factor was .887, which the dealer told me was really good. I watched them use the laptop and open and close the EGR with no issues as well. Are there any symptoms of a egr stuck slightly open? Truck runs great so I am thinking turbo is probably not the culprit, however after 4 months of trying to figure it out, I am not ruling anything out. Does the 7th injector get used during passive regen? I was under impression it was not. but I am certainly no expert!!!

Well, maybe the egr is faulty. I couldnt get exhaust temps to get to 600+ all day, stayed around 525 and watched the soot level increase. Then, the last hour, my exhaust temps were hitting 680 degrees and I could easily keep it over 600 degrees. This lasted for about 45 minutes then back to low 500's. I am thinking the egr is playing games with me

Next time that you run a regen, create a boost leak by removing a charge air clamp on the intake side. The turbo should try to compensate. See if your temperatures go up.....

That's about where mine was running before I had the 7th injector replaced. Now this is usually where it rides.

I remember reading this post on Mack forum, similar problem, practically same engine , how to test partially stuck open EGR valve. Seems ingenious and simple disconnect electric harness from egr and hose on egr flow tube before mixes with turbo air on front top motor, stick a rubber glove on it and start the motor. I understand disconectef Egr should stay closed , not alow any gases to inflate the glove, or get to engine drop exhaust temp gases and prevent regeneration.
