I don’t keep any more than 12 days available in logbook, only make 1 copy also, no carbon copy, that’s all I need for my records. That’s all they need to see. Over 12 days needs to be on file at Carrier. So I don’t give them a chance. It’s on file, alright, in my clipboard till I get home.At one time my safety rating got up to a 76, just enough to trigger a required status for inspection. At one point I averaged every 6 weeks. That went on for 30 mos. Finally they laid off Me. I passed at last count 57 out of 60 inspections. All due to one and my first ever accident.Thats been over 10 yrs ago. Back in the million mile club now. Whew!!!
DOT at rest areas and truck stops, will they wake you up?

A few years ago I was pulled in to the inspection station at Truckee because the Swift score was pretty low at the time. Nothing but friendliness and respect from the officers and I passed with no problems.
Every time I have had encounters with DOT people it has been the same experience, so I really wonder about all the horror stories.Tb0n3 Thanks this. -
Its basically luck of the draw with no guarantee either way.Hammer166, Ruthless, Moosetek13 and 1 other person Thank this. -

That could be. I've had very little actual experience with them in all this time. Guess I've been lucky.
I don't think I have been pulled in or over for inspection more than 6 times.
Maybe that is an advantage by working for Swift?
