So your net is about what a decent company driver makes and nowhere near what a Parcel linehaul driver makes.

I’m going to guess math isn’t your strong suit. Decent Company drivers make around .50 a mile. That’s before employer taxes, and benefits which cost a considerable amount. The o/o has to pay those out of his gross. Company driver gets $1,250 on 2500 miles. O/o makes 3,456 on 2500 miles at $1.44, and that’s probably not hub miles, so actual numbers will be a little more expensive.

That’s $1787 in basic costs. 3456-1787=$1,669That’s no workers comp, no medical, no savings for vacation, no self employment tax factored in, and hoping repairs and maint are less than $12k a year. That’s also excluding plates, permits, etc as the company may provide them. The company driver is actually doing better
