I think it is 80% the area where it is parked and the rest is the parking facility itself. Best if it has a gate with a dude sitting at it and the access is limited. It costs much more but to have peace of mind is priceless to me especially if parked with a loaded trailer over the weekend.

    PE_T Thanks this.

I drove a truck that had a switch on the dash labeled "Backup Alarm". Truck did not even have a backup alarm. In order to start the truck I had to hold that switch in the up position (Switch was spring loaded so you had to hold the switch up) and simultaneously turn the key to start. No switch up, not start. Only issue was if I had to put it in the shop to make sure the shop knew how to start it.

Let's see. You wake up off home time, go to your truck (even if it's in your yard) and find everything's been stripped out. How will that gun have prevented that theft?

And heavens forbid you are in a state that treat criminals better than victims by making the victim not able to protect their property. States without stand your ground laws.

I park my truck at my house behind a gate, cameras, and motion detectors with battery backups.

A big fleet I used to work for has all their trucks set up that way. It’s just a little button one needs to press, and I remember getting messages over the Qualcomm that said to tell the mechanic about it because apparently the company had been getting charged as the mechanic thought there was a mechanical issue.
