I don’t believe anything predictions in this Industry, until I see it happen. O/O s were predicted to be long gone by now. It changes so fast though, nothing will surprise Me.It will be interesting to watch. I just heard from friends of ours, their family members ( husband and wife) are buying 5 Trucks and hiring 5 Drivers. Gonna put them to work at Amazon. No prior Trucking experience at all. Lol, all I could say is , “ I wish them Good Luck” my guess is it will be bad luck. Crazy

Owner operators have been lead to believe that 1.50 is good, just like many have have been lead to believe there is a driver shortage.
Maybe when they say driver shortage that excludes owner operators ?? -
Anything the big boys can run you out of they will.
Money rules. Americans drool.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
They only think they can cut the rates. For now. They will increase the rates back up as soon as the national average rate for dry vans goes above 2 dol per mile again.

If Amazon is not careful they will end up buying the entirety of America. Amazon Coffee, Amazon Medicine, Amazon in Congress supplying ink and papers etc as well as electric power and food etc. And on and on Amazon everything.
Yeesh.
I do a little Amazon now and then, only when you cannot find a particular item anywhere else.TallJoe Thanks this. -
You all need to READ the linked article from ZEROHEDGE
And understand the fewer and fewer options the last fifty years to get paid moving freight.
All things manufactured come from overseas. That’s control at port of entry.
A handful of businesses dominate retail. That’s control all the rest of the way.
Amazon is shoving you out like it did to other segments of business. As WalMart did and does.
Guess you’re gonna be hauling onions out of Zapata.
Best get out of retail while you can.x1Heavy Thanks this.
