Kag is a tank group. I worked for them in the gasoline line. You work in the pressurized gas line . I have nothing good to say about them .

Neither does anyone else, every company they have touched. The drivers start to leave in droves. The drivers pay is the number one reason ppl leave.

I managed a couple location for this #### show. One of them was dedicated to Linde. From the top down they care about nothing but profit. Believe me, i love profit. But - i also value my drivers lives. No company under the KAG umbrella values your life. I was only with them a couple years but when my 4th regional manager in 2 years came through and was the 4th regional manager to tell me to stop worrying about drivers safety and start worrying more about saving money i left.
My terminals increased in profit over 400% in the time i was there but they wouldnt let me spend money to fix equipment which is decades old and on the verge of killing someone. i told my regional that i was leaving and he said he hoped to find someone that cared about profit as much as i cared about safety.
they tried to get me to lie to potential drivers about everything from pay to maintenance to benefits to home time and i wouldnt do it.
every person in a position of power within MGG is angling for a position with a major customer and cares about nothing other than increasing profit and having their voice heard on a conference call. These guys are criminals and if their policies dont kill someone before DOT shuts them down i will be flat out shocked.

You'd be lucky if you found something better. When the majors got out of hauling gasoline the common carriers took over and they cut the pay and benefits as much as they could. When they did that most of the drivers took their grandfather bonus and retired. Out with the safety and dedication and in with new, recent graduating student. It's no fault of the new drivers it's just that a gasoline hauling job, especially, in the city does requires a higher level of professional driving and an understanding of the product you're hauling. Now-a-days a driver may stay at these companies for a little while and leave to go on to better jobs. Can't blame them.

Gas hauling was once the job to have. I have talks with former drivers from time to time about the glory days of gas hauling. Then drivers. Went over to hauling LPG, once again this was once the job to have as pay was good along with insurance and home time. Now it's a low paying revolving door employment industry.

Cryo is still at the top of the food chain in the tanker industry. Along with chemical distribution. But for the outside carriers in cryo I haven't heard to many happy stories.

Well I'd say if you can get on the with one of the major private fleets you would be better off. For example we used genox (a common carrier) for over a year and some even had a chance to work for our private fleet, but would rather have weekends off. They thought that gig would be permanent, but we knew from day one that they were being used until we hired more drivers. Then within a few weeks time they where all let go. Why some drivers would prefer to be on with a common carrier vs private fleet has always baffled me.

If I get one year experience with kag wouldn't it be easier to get on with a private fleet? They are saying I could make 90k if I'm willing to work and go to west coast.

Yes experience would help but lots of private fleets are hiring drivers with zero tanker or cryo experience which not too long ago was unheard of. It's a drivers market and many fleets are desperate.
