I just don't think that's the case. He wasn't just off the boat, the runaway ramp is pretty self explanatory, no matter where you are from. Not sure why people can't understand, he thought he could ride it out and traffic was stopped at the bottom.

English would not have prevented this. It very could have been an American born 40 year old. He stated he didnt take the escape ramp for fear of flipping the truck. Most likely he was scared shi* less and just holding on hoping the breaks would somehow work praying for a miracle.

When I was a machinist in CA there was a large percentage of people who spoke English as a second language. The trade school I went to started offering a course in English for machinist. It is sad that this would be called racist now a days. This class helped them communicate in a shop so they would be successful.

As far as IQ many Fuel drivers I worked with in San Jose CA had degrees. In some cases they had less stress and more pay as a driver, especially during the Dot-Com bust.

When I was stationed in Germany. If you wanted to drive you had to get an international drivers license. This did NOT include speaking, German, Spanish, Indian, or any of the other 99 languages spoken over there. It included knowing what the street signs were and meant.

    Gambosa and mhyn Thank this.
