The USPS makes a lot of money off of Amazon. If it weren't for Amazon the post office would be a LOT further in the red.
Some of you may get all angry at my input here to this thread, but things will not change for any of us until we force change at the ballot box. No one will be so inclined to push for change unless they educate themselves on what has gone and is going wrong. Mark my words we will be going into a recession in the next year or so due to the lovely 1.5 trillion dollar gift to the wealthiest via the tax cuts. I predicted the recession in 2008 and my ppl said I was a conspiracy theorist. Well, I transferred all our retirement into low risk and watched everyone else lose 40+% and we lost less than 4%. I'm not schizophrenic, I'm just a book nerd trying to help; I mean no disrespect.

Top 10% of money earners pay about 70% of the federal income tax.

Bottom 50% pay about 2.8%

No one put a gun to my head and told me to purchase an Xbox or A computer or an IPhone.

That's fine but anything even remotely resembling a political statement gets deleted.
Political statements tend to turn into arguments, name calling, and other juvenile behavior. That's why we have a special place for them.

 

Freight seems to have slowed drastically the past few weeks. Speaking of taxes I am beginning to think this new tax reform has backfired on us. I have talked to several working class folks who are instead paying taxes this year instead of getting a refund, I barely got anything back for the first time in years. The loss of the per diem deduction had a lot to do with it for us also.

Seems this year people didnt get their expected refunds and turn no money to spend resulting in one possible cause of slowing freight.

Freight has not but rates have that’s for sure but as far as taxes, well I can say that many middle class people I know got an increase. Im one of them.

 

I took accounting in college and I did very well. I wanted to continue on for my CPA, but life happens! I do our business taxes and many of my friends taxes, so I do understand. The top earners pay more because they make more, but they actually pay a lower percentage out of their earnings than most of the middle class, especially with all the neat little loopholes and hiding spots for their wealth.

 

Can you share the neat little loop holes and hiding spots? My accountant must not know about them.
