There's no way I would take $60k credit towards it for a new shop queen.
I'd take $60k cash for it and retire, but never to get into a newer POS.Working2party Thanks this. -

That is a hard choice because the answer is 50/50. Look at your options
Where do you want to be in 4 years?
Spend 10-20k now. Fix/repair/rebuild now. In 4 years you will have a 6-8k truck that has to be replaced. (But look at all you the $$ you can bank in 4 years with no truck payment)
Take the $60k get a new truck now. With that kind of down deposit. Depending on what you get It should be paid in 2-3 years.
So 4 years from now you will have a 4 year old paid for truck.
Everyone has opinions only yours counts. That said if it was me. I'd take the 60k get a new truck. Accelerate payments and have it paid in 2.5 years. -
shmuck359 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Well if it still runs good than run it for a bit more.
But if you've not owned the truck since new it will most likely start to use a gallon of oil per day soon.
That is when it will need an inframe. And rebuild the head, and replace the oil cooler, oil pump, check the Piston oil squirters, and the gear drive.
And repaint the bock if your going to make it look nice.
Series 60 is the best engine for Linehaul use, and the best on fuel mileage most days. -

Leaving 60 000$ on the table..........that is a lot off money.
And in 4y you will have to pay full price for a truck that is carb compliant.OldeSkool Thanks this.
