That 2 hours spent will be worth it. If you get stopped and asked for your permit. Maybe break it up over two days. Half hour at lunch time. Hour over dinner or before bed.

How does the spotted lanternfly know not to "hitchhike" on trucks that are only "stopping for fuel and moving on in the infested area"?

    It must not like diesel......

So yeah, just start spraying the ground with diesel in the affected areas. Problem solved, right?:p

Before I read all the posts, I thought it was a "gag" permit, like you'd need a permit for each bug splattered on your windshield, or stuck in your truck's grill.

"Driver, your mayfly and mosquito permits are in order, but I don't see a monarch butterfly permit here, and your grill is in illegal possession of two and a half monarchs. Step out of the truck, please......"

you would only take that two hour course if you had your own authority, otherwise the motor carrier is responsible for providing your training. I don't know your situation. However if you do have authority and have any drivers or O/O leased to you then you would be responsible for training them.

    Not this one you dont

That region is known as the land of milk and honey. Figure of speech that applies to the abundance of food good to eat along with apples etc in the Amish country.

Some Amish will not have or do not implement defenses against pests growing of crops due to refusal of modern technology.

I have never seen this bug in person, then again this is a bug that showed up from Asia only a few years ago in our trade.

Things like that will happen and it's really unfortunate. You can only do so much.

Thank you Mack for your creating of this thread. I feel like i got updated today in that part of the USA.

Up to a 20k fine for not having the permit, enforceable May 1st.

Dispatcher had to do the course, and get a permit for 1 truck that stops there, Bensalem and others.

Time to raise the rate on that customer. Tell them to look to the state to reimburse them.
