    Stupid question.

As a company driver for the great and powerful Western Express we only have “Best Pass” I have no idea if it’s ever done anything. My question is this. Can I get drivewise in my phone and use it?

I’ve had 3 level ones this year and 1 level three. Thankfully I’ve got a new tractor...

I’d just want to be one of the cool guys that gets to bypass weigh stations at least once in my life.

Drivewyze is my choice been running it for years.

Basically according to Drivewyze its not Drivewyze giving you the bypass its the DOT giving you the nod because you are precleared through drivewize in many case.

You getting the bypass when there close because the DOT is feed DW thier status when they close.

Stevens Transport from Dallas, TX used to have two devices on their windshields: PrePass and E-ZPass. They switched over to BestPass about 2 years ago. BestPass is one device (sort of) and includes PrePass, E-ZPass, and a whole bunch of other electronic tolls (Florida, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Cali, etc.).

    EDIT———

It turns out as of this year Drivewyze has a wider coverage than PrePass, particularly in Canada. Without the Canada coverage, Drivewyze appears to have about the same as PrePass. I remember comparing these two companies last year and PrePass came out as the winner.

I just realized that PrePass released late of 2018 a new service similar to Drivewyze called PrePass Motion that works through an app, and it also happens to be included on the regular PrePass plan at no extra cost. It seems like that adds about 10 new weigh stations at the moment.

BestPass typically comes with a PrePass device. Check if yours has two devices inside a plastic casing. If it does, call your company to make sure your PrePass is active.

You cannot get a PrePass or Drivewyze, unfortunately. Only motor carriers are allowed to use this service. I think even leased owner operators wouldn’t be allowed without their company’s permission.

I’m surprised some big companies aren’t using this service. I have never ever had a level one inspection in my 6 years of driving. I’ve always used a PrePass. I’ve gotten a few level 2 and 3 inspections.
