They do allow personal conveyance. I just have to get it added to my Qualcomm. the logs department staff is not working on the weekends, however, I did speak to a driver support staff member and they said that once I get to where I take my 34 hour reset, I can go off duty and call the logs department in the morning and tell them about what went on and they can do something about it.

I should have known that my first solo load wasn't gonna go smoothly. I should have looked at my hours before I even started on this run. If I had done that, I would not be in this mess.

Also that rule three.. note it states reasonable and safe location. This doesn't mean truck stop. If the reciever allows parking it means staying at the reciever.
Also if there is a rest area before the truck stop and such like that.88 Alpha and dtj12231989 Thank this. -

Learning how to trip plan properly should be one of your first goals right now. You can never depend on dispatch.
Also never decline a load for hours. Simply inform dispatch when it can be delivered based on your HOS. Also remember a 34 is optional, you can run recap.otherhalftw, HoneyBadger67, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
And thanks for the info in the second paragraph. That makes me feel somewhat better in case they try to get me to go over my hours next time. -
Don’t sweat the small stuff, run pc to the nearest truck stop. If the elog doesn’t allow it until Monday do it on a paper log.

No this sounds like bad trip planning for the entire week , 70 hours is alot of time and u should have shut down before putting urself in a bad situation.. Idc if the load needs to be delivered by 5pm if my hours run out at 5:01 im not chancing it, you need to tell dispatch to reschedule it.. But u also need to figure out a trip plan better so u can plan each load around how much hours u have because ultimatly us drivers are the ones that take all the blame in the end... Ur best option is getting unloaded and burning on duty hours , u wont be in violation until u try to move again . at that point put it on pc and drive to the nearest shut down point and wait until midnight to get recap hours back.. The extra hours u burn from sitting at the dock whil on duty but over ur 70 will come back from the next days recap hours

I just got off the training truck the day before I got this load. It was also in a hurried manner because my trainer's mom went into the hospital for a collapsed lung due to surgery complications. Not trying to make excuses. I'm just giving you the info that I was given by my trainer.
What do the dot inspectors go by more? Elogs or paper logs? I can't use PC until Monday morning. Also, I do have 48 minutes of recap time coming in tonight. My appointment wasn't until tomorrow morning at 945. Since I am only 4 minutes over my hours, if I can wait at the receiver until tomorrow morning, I can go to the truck stop with out being in violation of HOS rules.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
If they don't allow parking do what you have to.dtj12231989 Thanks this.
