BINGO!!!!! I hit the jackpot. They said I could stay here at the receiver overnight if they don't unload me today. Then, I can get unloaded in the morning and get to the truck stop with about ten to fifteen minutes to spare.

You have to decide whether you are going to run the log, or allow it to run you. Running out of Midwest to So. Cal hauling produce back 4k to 4.6k; in 8 days or less, in less than 70 hours. Do your resets at home.....

Thanks for the info. I'm a newbie at this so it is taking some time to get used to it. The only reason why I didn't get back home for the 34 hour reset was the truck I'm driving is a recovered truck for Western Express. Besides, I'm gonna have to take some home time by the 25th anyway. I got my CDL on March 26 and started orientation in Nashville on March 31. The next Saturday I was on the truck with my trainer. I graduated training Friday and was put on a truck for recovery to get it back to Nashville. The only thing I have on me right now is my 60 day temporary paper copy and that expires on May 25th. So I need to get back home by then and preferably a week before then so I can retrieve my hard copy. So, I figured while I am there doing that I could take two or three days home time.

Good deal boss, i wasnt aware this was ur first load, i didnt mean to be so harsh, some guys come on here asking the same questions but never take advice... Looks like u are somebody whos willing to learn... We have all been there , just make sure next time u got enough hours to make the trip, because if u accept it and u dont have enough hours to make it , when it has to be rescheduled its on u.. Dispatch likes to play those games sometimes.... Just make sure u handle ur business and dont let them push u around.. U will be fine out here boss , do what u gotta do.. If worse comes to worse then a couple minutes violation to get shut down aint a big deal imo .. Just dont make a habit out of it

No problem. I'm used to being treated harshly, so don't worry about it. No harm done and I'm treating it as a learning experience. They are unloading me now and they still said I could stay overnight until I get my recap time at midnight. So, there is that. I'm still calling logs in the morning so this won't happen again. Now, I need to find some food. I'm thinking Domino's pizza.

If you stay off duty, by tomorrow you will have a good chunk of your restart complete. Your problem will be if you log on duty to show offloading. It will ruin your reset.

You could however, edit your logs to show unloading when you first arrived. Just make sure the travel agent is on the same page.

Thanks for that. I realized that I have 48 minutes of recap time coming in tonight. The receiver said I could stay here overnight so I can get my recap time and make to the nearest pilot which is 20 miles out.

Ok here if the real life deal. Get off seeking safe haven and go to either off duty or sleeper.
If they unload you tonight. Drive to closest trucks to or rest area, go off duty. Use PC seeking safe haven. If you do not no how to use PC. Then just go to regular driving. Sure the e log will say you committed a violation (SO WHAT) Tomorrow call safety before they call you. Explain what you did why. Then ask 5hem how do you use PC? Safety will edit your log for you showing legal driving to truck stop/ rest area. The e-log is not gonna shut the truck down, send a message to the dot, or set off flashing lights and sirens.
