I started working at CFI 6months ago, I’ve been incident free and am even on camera avoiding incidents but today was rough. I was picking up tires and the address said it was a warehouse. I turned got loaded and went to leave only to end up at a dead end intermodal yard.
The guard was pissed I was there and told me the gates were closed so I’d have to back out. I got out without touching any property or leaving any ruts. Will they call my company and report me? If they do will I be fired? I’ve got a family depending on me and I’ve never felt so stupid in my life.
If they do fire me is there someone else that would hire me? My driving record is spotless no tickets, warnings or etc. My only traffic stop ever was a cop checking out my vehicle because they thought it was someone else.
New driver had a bad day

When I first started driving I remember being worried about things like that. Over the years I have driven into some real crazy places. Never been fired for it and never will be as long as there is no money involved.
Rideandrepair, NavigatorWife and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I don't see anything for you to worry about, it will not be the last dead end you drive down.
I can't wrap my head around folks always worrying about if somebody else will hire them, it seems like they think they have the only job available, eventually you will figure out that there is jobs everywhere you look.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
You got into a crappy spot, you got out it with no issues. You have a spotless record and you're concerned about keeping it that way. Sounds like you're on the right track.Rideandrepair, NavigatorWife and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
CFI won't fire you. Even if they did, there's about 100 companies just waiting to hire you.
You're gold in trucking; 6 mos. experience and no fender benders.Rideandrepair, Aamcotrans, Nathanos and 5 others Thank this. -
I have no idea why security guards always seem so pissed off in all these stories. I was one of them for a little bit, and I never got pissed when I had to tell a driver "sorry, we're closed." Part of the job.
Although, I do remember a few of the guys always seemed to be angry at the world.Dino soar, Rideandrepair, NavigatorWife and 2 others Thank this. -
Well done OP.Dino soar, Rideandrepair, dwells40 and 5 others Thank this. -
The average security guard make extremely low pay. These are the guys that wanted to be LEOs but cannot make the grade. So, they are stuck in some shack, making $.10/hour more than the janitors, hating their own existence, but need the job in order to afford the dominos pizza (you always see a dominos box near them) and the dial-a-porn. So, when they get the opportunity to spread their misery, they become so happy that they catch wood.
Now, not all security guards are that way. Some times, you see some old guy on fixed income. He retired 30 years ago, fixed income and the local municipality upped his property taxes to line their pockets. Usually, this type guard will be very cordial.
Now, back to the losers. Wanna get under his skin when he’s being a dingleberry? Call him “Champ.” What better way to insult a person who has never won at anything?Rideandrepair, dwells40, BigBob410 and 7 others Thank this.
