    Food service. Local work, always hiring, but very physical. Coming from a warehouse job, you'd be a good fit. Many of them will train you. There's a high turnover in food service, presumably because drivers get tired of the physical work.

    Would I need to get OTR experience for those? Every time I call local companies they want experience.

    First you’ll need a CDL if you don’t already have one. Then find a company willing to train You. Shouldn’t be too hard, these days. @Chinatown can help you out, will need more info, area etc

    Where in Kentucky do you plan to locate?
    Tampa is good for now; plenty of jobs there for truckers.
    I'll dig through my notebooks and see what I can find for Tampa; meantime, let us know where you will live in Kentucky.

    Rideandrepair and Roscoe1289 Thank this.

    Not trying to tell you what to do but since you just had a baby think long and hard about getting into trucking. Get local if at all possible but even with that trucking often means long hours away from your family. You could end up regretting all the things you WILL miss with your child growing up. That said I totally understand you need a good paying job to provide for your family. Best wishes to you!

    Can you afford cdl school?
    The state of Florida may pay for cdl school through the WIOA Program; Google > WIOA Program Florida
    Some companies will reimburse cdl school tuition back to you if you pay yourself first.
    You can make good money with a tanker outfit.
    CTL Transportation will reimburse cdl school tuition back to you.
    Since you plan to relocate; maybe go with CTL Transportation in Tampa for now, then when you move to Kentucky you'll have a few months experience and can change to another tanker outfit there.

    Here's a good job in Louisville pulling tankers. With this company, probably make $65K+ your first year.
    Trimac Transportation - has regional or OTR positions.
    Here's more information > Apply On Company Site
    1-year verifiable tractor trailer experience; OR_ a recent driving school graduate from a Trimac approved school;
