Cummins as well. In my former shop, any engine with either an in frame or out of frame, was dynoed without question.

I love the responses about new engines in New trucks. Every single one of those new engines was treated and broken in at the engine plant before being shipped to the truck assembly plant.
The difference between a properly broken in engine and one just driven however is the difference between an engine that confines pull from day one and one that barely needs topped off between oil changes.
Also you don't 'need' a dyno to break an engine in, it just makes life easier.jamespmack and Bean Jr. Thank this. -

And the difference between an engine that consumes oil and one that does not is the alignment of the ring gaps on the oil rings; if they are correct the engine will not consume oil and if they are too close together on one or more holes the engine will always consume oil; no "break in routine" will correct incorrect oil ring alignment or make a correct alignment move out of its optimal position.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
