Shoot! I haven't thought about that... I've made over 3000 posts here on TR. It'll take me awhile to go trough all of them and do some erasing.

I had to go to criminal court to defend myself in a improperly laid charge in a accident. The first thing my lawyer told me to do was search social media for the other driver to build a road rage case against him. Im here to tell you that your life can change in an instant. By the time you figure out you’ve been a Fn idiot it’s often too late

What a beautiful day it is. I'm not in jail, still have a beautiful wife. They are calling for thunderstorms today though. I had better think about hiding in the basement for the day.

    NAH, screw it. LMFAO

Hide in the basement? No, but I make sure the land around my house is graded to draw the water away from the foundation. I also cleaned the gutters and got the lawn mowed before the rain came.

I don't live in fear, but I also don't teabag a bear cub in front of it's mother either.

I only agree with in an aspect of equal peers deciding your life in a place like Sidney NE court. I am afraid, also hope that I'm wrong, but that 12 jurors there would unceremoniously sentence a man like him (especially like him - last name Slezak, born in what used to be Czechoslovakia), whether he was over HOS (in his case I figure 4-5 hours) or not, the very moment they saw him.
The problem being....no equal peers available.
Edit. His case was simple though. Could not be more guilty. Just saying...

Perhaps you missed it earlier. Slezak did not go to trial therefore there was no jury. He plead no contest.

Now let's compare the case of Slezak to that of the Walmart driver that killed the comedian

-Both supposedly fell asleep at the wheel
-The Walmart driver was speeding in a reduced speed construction zone in broad daylight
-Slezak was not speeding, it was dark and was not in a construction zone (although I think there were signs warning of the accident and stopped traffic ahead).
-The Walmart driver drove his personal vehicle from FL before beginning his shift and was therefore fatigued.
-The Walmart driver had a legal log book
-Slezak was over by 3 hrs.
    Wlamart driver killed 1.
    Slezak killed 4.

    The Walmart driver violations:
    -Speeding in a construction zone
    -driving while fatigued

    Slezak violations:
    -driving while fatigued
    -illegal log by 3 hrs

the Walmart driver walked with community service but Slezak got 20 yrs. The chief difference between those two guys was HOS, so the courts are telling us......at least for anyone that wants to pay attention......that they are not fooling around with HOS. This ain't the wild west anymore. .If you are involved in a serious accident while in violation of HOS you are going to jail. I don't think alot of drivers get it yet.

People will do what they want, but for my part I have a responsibilty to two kids and they don't want to visit their father in jail over a few hours and a home cooked meal. Whenever I'm tempted, I just think of Slezak.

    Cheers
