Since you could use either 6’ or 7’ Skipshooter, why not them?

Or just one and bypass factory coax. See recent vid on pulling mirror off.

Try a custom made RG8 equivalent Coax from DX ENGINEERING

TOP GUN TEC mount stud and extension at BOBS CB.

How else can I spend some of your money?

Where is link to video? Actually the co- phased 4.5' Francis antennas work pretty good, swr 1.2ish, average range 5 to 10 miles with stock 980 or 29ltd, not Rabbi distance, but it serves its purpose.

    Slowmover1 Thanks this.

In my previous T680 with the Francis antennas was able to make contact with JesseJamesDallas about 20 miles away with stock, barefoot 29 ltd, but Im guessing he has a pretty awesome antenna on his mobile 4 wheeler.

I'm a big fan of the 4.5 Francis antennas. Always had good luck with them.

I came up with a solution for those trucks. Take a thin piece of sheet metal 2 feet long by 5 in wide and put two 90-degree bends in it so it wraps around that drop down tray. You need to completely remove that tray assembly so you can wrap the sheet metal around it. Then you reinstall the tray assembly and close it. You'll have a couple pieces of sheet metal hanging down on either side of it. Slide your radio in between the two pieces of sheet metal and figure out where you want to put your holes in the sheet metal and then drill those holes and install your bolts and voila you're done. It will be so solid that you can mount a radio of any size and weight and not have to worry about it falling down because the whole thing is secured by screws up top.

On a T-680 all you do is remove the slide and Velcro the radio in there.. use a piece about 2”x8” towards the front underside of the CB.

Problem with those Volvo’s I had was the ridiculous bump out right above the radio.. If you haven’t yet, you will at some point smash your head on it..

What they do get right with those trucks is the power port above there. I liked it for my dash camera power..

The other problem I had with driving a Volvo was that Chic’s laughed at me

    Sorry, couldn’t resist!

When you say remove the slide are you referring to the tray? Even with tray out a larger size radio ( general lee, 99v2) cannot squeeze between the tracks, and that whole plastic piece needs to be taken out, speaker and all.

Yes, the tray. It gives me an opening of 2.75” x 7.75”
No idea the sizes of the larger radios.

You could definitely file down an edge of the plastic face plate and make it work. Plenty of width past the face plate.
