Do kids even know the gesture to make these days? Most of the kids I see are glued to some type of electronic device while riding in cars.

Driving I-15 through Las Vegas late one night I got the arm pump from a little one. It still happens from time to time

(And yes, I tooted my air horn that time. We were literally the only 2 vehicles on that stretch of highway at the time)

Seeing the person's face (child, teenager, a couple friends leaving the bar at happy hour, etc) light up when i toot the horn for them is one of the handful of joys I get from this job. Plus I just like the way they sound so I'm always looking for excuses to tug on the cord. I hooked up a deep Grover horn to replace the stock one so it gives a nice commanding tone that you'd expect a truck horn to have.

    X2.......

If that kid is giving you the arm pump, he / she obviously isn’t glued to a #### phone.

That Ford past me on I-90 in Ohio east of Cleveland back in the fall, brown regular cab truck. Passenger ( Her ) gave me the arm pump as she was hanging 1/2 way out the window, them yanked that top up and set those puppies free!!! Hey it was a free shot..... even though they flopped in the wind like a hounds ears.

I’ve been asked to honk the horn twice in my short 6 months
1 Obligated to - was on 94w just exiting Michigan and was minding my own business checking mirrors and a mini van got on pulled up was driving next to my driver side door then they slowed down and let me back into my slow lane then they came up to my driver side. And started to slowly pass me but they stayed right near my front hood mirror . Wasn’t exactly looking at them but I noticed them (guessing they were positioning)..They slowed a little more. But when I finally looked the kid in the car seat had his hand out the window and then I made eye contact with him. Oh my goodness the joy he expressed was like he had been waiting for hours for me to notice him.. gave em a nice honk and the van got to moving..

The next one was a plant that gave me no direction whatsoever - was told to turnaround make a right and you should see it and the office wouldn’t call to let anyone know I was coming. Got back there and it one of those places that has mini construction crews all over the place.well that right turn was in an alley and one of the grown kids on the construction crew was just begging for it it was a why not situation.
