Doesn't matter what it idled at....you put in the required pounds of freon for the system. My guess is he probably over filled it.

I made a poor choice to park at a Pilot last night. Mr. white volvo, truck 231? pulling an old Werner trailer, was about to hit a Crete - so unlike the other 6 witnesses, I blew my horn before the crunch... Of course as I was jumping out of the truck, he decided to pull up (crunch again as his icc bar did a steer tire alignment) and try 'er again - this time fixing to just take the hood clean off... I'm waving my hands and yelling "you hit him twice! STOP!" The dumb sonofabitch finally looked down at me and said "huh? nu uh! I did? guess I'll have to pull over to the side" Then took off. After calling the store and tracking down the victim, I gave him the guys truck number and partial mc only to get a bewildered "what's mc number mean?"
No, I didn't have time to grab my phone out of it's dock, and I'm too old and slow to open the camera app and snap a pic that quickly anyway.
Since I bought 3 spots and got to hand out the passes, I slept well in the center one... My coworkers? Maybe not so much haha.7-UP, snowman_w900, RedForeman and 23 others Thank this. -
That's great stuff Jim! Thanks for sharing! I wish I'd have known about this beforehand. I used to live in Germantown, MD. And would have loved to take the family to the send off.7-UP, snowman_w900, Oxbow and 16 others Thank this.

Like the openness, inside and out, and the front porch is the kicker for the exterior, imo.Last edited: May 22, 2019

Spinning the compressor faster doesnt change the pressure?
High side kicked off at 325psi and he said it was gtg. I feel like down here where its nice and hot the high side pressure is closer to 350 or 375.OLDSKOOLERnWV, PoleCrusher, cke and 9 others Thank this. -
Yes sir !
We have a revolving door of drivers that proves my point.peterbilt_2005, 7-UP, snowman_w900 and 17 others Thank this. -
If your doing it with gauges and a tank. If your using a machine the truck dont need to even run.OLDSKOOLERnWV, PoleCrusher, cke and 11 others Thank this. -
Which is to much pressure. First place to look is make sure you have ample air flow across condenser. Like @Hurricane69 said where he had it idled doesn't matter if its got the proper amount in it. It's easy to overcharge one on a morning when it's cool. Then that afternoon when temp gets up.....7-UP, snowman_w900, RedForeman and 23 others Thank this.

It's not rocket science.... there's a sticker on your firewall that tells you the pounds of freon for your truck. Ya put the tank on a scale and put in that much freon.7-UP, snowman_w900, Oxbow and 19 others Thank this.

325 is too high unless it was a 100 or better outside when he charged it. It probably should have been closer to 250 to 275.snowman_w900, Oxbow, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 15 others Thank this.
