That's a great buckle. I still have my PIE Tanker buckle. It's pretty rare.
Matter of fact some moron came up to me one day and said the buckle was a phony 'cause PIE didn't run tankers. I caught him out behind the tire shop and we had a history lesson. ;)

Back on topic. @otterinthewater , you're no longer a new driver when one of the newer drivers calls you sir and holds the door open for you.

You're no longer a new driver when you have at least 3 posted threads on TTR talking about your newest and greatest trucking company, 3 different companies, all within 1 year's time ;-)

Having started to go gray in my 20's, I've been called "sir" more times than I care to remember. Let's not forget the offered senior discounts in my mid 30's if I decided to not shave for a while....

That’s the undeniable identifying mark of the supertrucker. Whenever you have a driver who, in the first 5 minutes of you meeting him, starts VOLUNTEERING employment history, Watch Out.

    You say, “Good morning!”

He says, “Well, I’ve been driving for 37 1/2 years, and I wish you a good morning.”

You say, “Do you think it’ll rain today?”

He says, “In my 19 1/4 years at Land Star, I honestly believe it’s going to get wet out here.”

Be warned: you’re talking to a real supertrucker. He spends more time bloviating about driving than actually driving. Makes half the money that you do, YET he’s talking down to you. Try not to laugh.

After some reflection and self examination, along with some wisdom from Captain Morgan. I think ive figured out the answer. You're no longer a new driver when someone asks for directions and you pull out your spiral bound, laminated, Rand McNally Atlas. And they look at you as if you're some kind of nutjob...

In regards to @TripleSix, so, if a person is a local vampire driver, does the clause in 6a eliminate a local guy from being making it to 6b, based on the fact that a local driver doesn't run alot of miles?

When you look in the mirror and the left side of your face looks 78 years old, but you're only 40, you have reached veteran status.

Once you've been backed into twice at the truck stop. Hit no less than 3 deer and your wife is considering leaving you because your never home. Now your a real trucker.
