Instant O/O and Load boards

Ok update and a small gripe. The trip from MN to Miami didn't go through, so I got another trip, sunflower seeds to teutopolis, IL. Still 980 miles though.

Anyway, I load up in MN around noon, then go take my time having a cheesesteak and chatting up the girls at the Petro pump for about an hour. Then before hitting the road, I figure I'll plan my trip and call the receiver to get the opening hours so I can get up nice and early to unload (I've been sleeping later than I should lately). Anyway, the guy tells me receiving hours are 2am to 6am! I asked him to repeat it, then made sure that wasn't when I CAN'T show up. Nope... 4 hours a day and odd ones at that. So now it's 1pm and the drive is a little under 16 hours. So I could either make a run for it or get there and have a nice vacation in nowhereville for nearly 24 hours.

Well, all I can say is even with the best of intentions, I really don't see how anyone can run legal in this business. After burning a hole through MN and WI and running 61 through IL, I'm unloaded and my paperwork signed! All my pee breaks were on the shoulder on the 5th wheel and one fuel stop for 8 minutes flat.

Shoot now I'm not even tired anymore lol

 

Don't you just love that? Same thing happened to me, and other payments due before receiving my first settlement.

Stuff like this was why my warning. You can smell the possible disaster teetering on the edge. Hopefully you'll get it pulled together asap, but I feel for you and I know this feeling well!

LOL this day just won't quit! I figured, well I'm up, let me get my deadhead out of the way and get loaded, then go sleep for 8 hours before driving to Arkansas.

Anyway been here for 4 hours waiting, and here's the scene right now:



Apparently there's been some kind of breakdown that keeps repeating itself. Word now is that at 5pm they're going to switch to loading railcars instead of trucks for 12 hours... so if I'm not loaded in the next hour (which I won't be) then I'll be in this line for the night. There's not even any good information circulating to the truckers. I'm trying to figure out how to take catnaps sitting upright in the driver seat so I can pull up every half hour one truck length.
