So I replaced the one box and got new DPF filters, it was expensive but now everything works really good. Went driving with the laptop plugged in and now getting solid and steady 99% nox conversion. Before, it was all over the place - fluctuating between 35% and 80%. I will post comparison pics of the two graphs later, for reference.

Now on my way to Seattle with a heavy load, and for the first time ever I can make it up steep mountains without a check engine light.

I'm just hoping this one box lasts 750,000 miles like the old one did. That way maybe I'll be able to get this truck to 1.5 million with an engine rebuild, and the $14k will be worth it.

Remove the wires from the speedometer sending unit on the tail of the transmission. Then your truck won't debate you because it doesn't know how fast you're going.

I would not spend $14 to replace 1 box on my truck. do you have original injectors?

Yes, as far as I know. Unless Werner changed them in the first 400,000 of this truck's life. They didn't exactly keep very good maintenance records.

I did the compression test and injector test with DDDL, and everything looks healthy on that end.

It's a moot point now anyways. The box has been replaced and paid for. I'm just hoping the engine lasts till 1 million, so I can drop some money and do a complete engine rebuild and keep running this thing deep into the 2020s.

After 600-700k miles injectors start overspraying. CR fuel system's injectors normal operational lifespan is 12.000 hours. When they start overspraying you will see DPF outlet temp rises more than 1200F. high temp will toast the SCR blocks inside of 1 box. Now you have spent big money and you need to monitor regen temps so 1 box will go longer. Install Scangauge. Set it up to see exhaust temps. Old and leaking doser block also can damage 1 box. Replacing doser block is not expensive(less than $1k). If you still have original doser block replace it. They have updated it few times during last years.

My wrench does a little fleet of Cascadia's.

That's why I said one box early, cause he said no APU, they go around 750K.

There is supposedly a long awaited aftermarket replacement coming. That's reduces the one box cost by a 2/3.

Like you said, it's in the mirrors now. I'll PM you an agent that will give you something going back east from up there that pays.

That would be awesome. I love this area but it's hard to get out. I'm delivering Tuesday morning.

Good advice about the HC doser, that thing looks easy enough for me to replace myself, might make a little project out of it next couple of months.

I've watched a lot of regens with dddl over these last few days and my DPF temps don't really go above 1000, maybe 1100. I'll keep an eye on it. Should I just go ahead and change the injectors anyways, or just wait until the big engine rebuild?

    I have some Freightliner Intel.

    Freightliner of Tampa.

I give the rating - Emergency only.

Dude dropped truck 2 off there to get fuel gauge fixed.

    They did, warranty.

    But

They are into doing this "QC" crap on the truck to generate work. Freightliner of the Northwest does this too.

Service writer calls me says coolant is a little low.

    Define low.

    "Needs topped off. "

    Uh huh. How much?

    "$56".

    Suck a dick.

"Brakes need adjust it looks like."

    You measure them?

    "Well, no."

    How much?

    "$145".

    Suck two dicks.
