I'm old enough to know a driver that used to be served a beer when he picked up a load at Budweiser. They would give you a cold one to enjoy while they loaded your truck.

We were Seagrams out of the Port. So much in the container straight there and back. Whew.

I was contemplating a lifetime of running whiskey and found it to be a little limiting. I can almost taste the stuff sloshing in that container to this day.

In many states, I do not know about all, but your truck is considered your home and you can drink in it as long as you are legally parked, idling or not. The law is different from a private non commercial vehicle.

I was behind a cabover in orange Texas once, when he hit some slight s curves on the street, running less than 30 mph.
He had a load of curved prefabbed pipe of some sort and it shifted on him and flopped it on it's side.
He climbed out and we bs for a little while, when he had an oh no moment and climbed back in, meanwhile the law had pulled up behind him and walked up. Beer cans started flying out the open drivers window and raining down on us, the cop stepped in front where he could look through the windshield and told the guy to stop throwing the beer cans out unless he wanted a littering ticket. lol I was rolling in the grass. lol
