I suspect my company swapped engines. Is it possible?

It's good to start doing that. It's something that is engraved in the first turbo long ago.

Those things get really something under a load. If you don't idle and cool it after days work or hard pull it's going to kill it essentially for lack of a better word.

Give her 8 minutes and you should be ok. Keep her at a easy 1000 set idle. It will cool down pretty good.

the engine doesn’t have 17% idle time the ECM does. I would think you could tell if someone swapped your ECM.

1st thing is WHY would company even think about swapping engines? It isn't hard, but it also isnt cheap or quick.

Idle dies your truck run all day and night? Or does it shut itself down after you park? If it shuts itself down. Then dont worry that is your cool down time. If it doesnt shut itself off after you park. Let it idle for 5-8 minutes before you shut it off. You can have the shop set it to shut itself down, and also a way for you to override so it doesnt.

    Ok ... a couple questions.

1- is this your actual truck, meaning you actually own it and pay for it with no ties to the company?

2 - if it is your truck, then do you leave the keys with them?

    Forever237 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

OP. can you take the total time running and subtract the idle time to get average speed driven [computer] I had 1 truck that was limited to 68 mph but if you did the math you would have to have driven over 100 mph. It took 3 years but the computer finally blew up.

Some of you have some weird ideas about turbos but that's for another thread. hint [pyrometer]

There should be a serial number engraved on the block, verify it with your door sticker

So what does a person do in this situation? They can do to a dealer and have them verify if something was changed... but how can the owner prove it may have been modified by the company shop and not done by the owner at some point.
That was my first thought. ECM.
