While at the dealer, get a locking fuel cap,,,stealing reefer fuel is the easiest thing to do.

Ugh that sucks. Some douche canoe stole 8 brand-new Michelins mounted on 8 brand-new Dura-Bright wheels off one of our brand-new 13-axle Diamond trailers at the TA in Lamar, PA this past April.

I actually already have one in my truck, but after reading online reviews of it seizing up, I decided to hold off. After this incident, I think I’m ready to use it, at least in bad areas/states. What’s funny is that I wasn’t exactly in a bad area. I was on I-70, one hour away from Indianapolis.

Wow, that’s sad. So around Terre Haute? That would surprise me though, much more likely towards Richmond. Although unfortunately it must have been a fellow trucker from who knows where. Times are tough, people are getting desperate.

Several years back when fuel got so high and rates went the other way, drivers were stealing and even selling fuel left and right. I backed in and set the brake next to a parking lot, when I stepped out I noticed his fuel cap was off. I got back in my truck and found another spot, didn't want him to think I stole his fuel.

So you either don't do pre and post trip instructions or don't know how.

How many people actually crawl under their trailer axles every day though? He should not be having problems like that on a new unit and that wasn’t too easy to see anyway.
