If you’re stuck with the tire, you can put it on the front drive axle, It will True up after while.Still end up with a big flat spot. Not ideal by any means. But you can get something out of it, as long as it’s not too bad
Out of round steer. Will centramatics cure this shake ?

Have you checked that it's mounted true?
Hammer166, FlaSwampRat, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had a similar circumstance and a tire guy in NJ told me that, while he can't make the tire round again, he can add a ton of counterbalance to make it tolerable and wear down the tall side. He claimed it would get better over time and I would have to periodically rebalance and remove weight. I had him add the weight and it helped... to get me home. I bought a new tire soon afterward. I was afraid to experiment with my steer tires. My local tire guy just laughed hysterically when he saw all the weight.

I don’t lnow what’s up with out of round tires, used to be common on Chinese only, Last few yrs I’ve seen Bridgestone steers and Drives. I can’t help but wonder if US manufacturers are cutting corners in an attempt to better compete. It’s a crap shot. My Chinese Drives are well over 500 k. Time off a new set. Last Bridgestone I had looked identical to current ones, wore a little better, but dry rotted before fully wearing out. Had 1 blow out. Current Chinese are same way now, some dry rot.

We had out of round tires before chinese tires became popular, probably more so now with chinese tires.
The one and only set of goodyear steer tires I ever bought were so out or round they did not last long on a trailer. I am sure they just had a bad run or something, but it soured me on goodyear and I never gave them another chance. -
Toss some counteract beads in your steers when they mount them if you want them balanced right. I have centramatics for 5 axles stacked up in my shop make me an offer. Lol

Do a laser alignment . I use to buy steers every 9months had 7 computer Alignments done over 3yrs. Went to MD alignment in KC . Chad i think his name was did a laser alignment no more tire wear steers lasted 2 yrs . Still wore even when i had them replaced. Laser alignment only way i will go for now on

But an alignment won't help a defective tire. -
I would make sure it's in the rim okay. I have mounted tires before and had them hop when they were on the balancer. Many times you can move the tire around and make it work, I would run it back to the tire shop like a few others have suggested. They may be able to make it work and if not warranty it out.
