Yes it is . Thousands of expedite fleet owners and drivers have worked that way for years .

I would actually like to hear a little more about it at another time.

Listen. Free advice you didn't ask for: IF you wish to start responding to posts such as the previous poster's with answers, such as the one you just gave in defense of yourself over assumptions of you, when clearly they haven't read the entire thread, feel free to do so. A few things things will result: 1) It will be a grand waste of your time. 2) You will spend more time typing bs that truly doesn't matter than you will something meaningful. 3) And, you will learn a lot less here than you otherwise could because you'll end up talking about/defending yourself too much. 4) Those who do know this business, and there are many, but those who do will likely end up ignoring you more than reading/helping you because of the previous three.

I'm not saying don't be forthcoming in what you do know. I'm saying don't waste your time with bs that wasn't relevant to what you started or responded in the first place. Up to you, just free, friendly advice. For example, RickG, see the 30 years in the business? Read his posts. He's experienced, well thought, and doesn't seem to mix words with bs as near I can tell. Compare him to your previous responder and comment. Who now would you choose to spend your time responding comments with? Just my .02.

Let me also say this when it comes to working for some one else. Interviews are two way streets. A lot of people do not realize that. I may be asking you to convince me you are worth hiring, but at the same time I should be convincing you I am worth working with. This is not the first time I have owned a company. The last one was small in comparison, but still successful. The only reason I let it go is because I decided to go back in the military.

You are correct. I just wanted it to be known that advice given by real professionals is not a waste of their time. Some one like that comes on here and questions my back ground with out knowing me may send the wrong signal to those I wish to hear from. So that is the only reason I took it as serious as I did. But, I do see your point and I agree.

Just save this for reference . http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=99921,00.html
Drivers like expedite drivers choose their loads and have the right of refusal and right to negotiate rates . They also choose when and where to take days offf .

    Lonesome7.3 Thanks this.

Yup . They know far more about IRS regulations than you do unless you have an accounting background I'm not aware of .
