yes, I took this picture right at sunrise, when the sun first hits the mountain, it looks like it's on fire...the guy walking in that other picture (my brother in law) climbed the Matterhorn about 20 yrs ago IMG_1997.JPG

14 hours and 1 minute on the clock (on duty thank you, totally legal) yesterday.
My truck is in the shop so they put me in another and I go get concrete vaults (4400lbs each, 10 of them on the trailer) It's a complete giant screaming PITA to get into this place normally and this time we're doing a D&H. It took 20 minutes to get the empty in. Took the other guy longer so I feel good about that. :) Probably would be quicker just to live load it (it's not as hard to back into that area.)

Notice that big thing on the back of my truck. What the heck is that and why can't I see out the window? :)

So the guy hands me the paperwork along with instructions. Go to this staging area in Vail and then call and the pilot car will come and meet you and lead you up the mountain.

    Wait. What?

    UP THE MOUNTAIN?

The switchbacks were great fun. A couple other guys didn't come close (different deliveries), i had to jackknife it to make some. (again, what is this thing on the back of my cab?)

Get like 1 mile up the road and unload. I say is this the top? Oh no, more deliveries go there, the road runs like 5 more miles and up another 2500 feet in elevation.

that little bitty ribbon way down there is I70. Somewhere between those hills is Vail Pass. Those little ants down there is the city of Vail.

that is Vail mountain ski resort. That we're driving on.

Then I drive back and other guy blew up going up Eisenhower, so i had to flip around, drop my empty grab his full and do it again. made it back with like 5 minutes left on my clock. Long day.

Certainly don't deliver up there in a van/reefer/can

Picked up just outside DC going about 100 miles down to Richmond..... this’ll be all I do this week.... putting trailer in shop to figure out a way for me to keep rear axle flipped down but tires off the ground instead of always going through the hassle of flipping it....

one of your pictures reminded me of a pic my buddy sent me back in December. He was delivering a generator to a ski resort in the Adirondacks. The skidder towed him up and then also held him back on the way down 20181115_101918.jpg
