You get to decide what's good and what's too little. It varies by region. Move to other regions if necessary. In middle TN you can get $18-24 per hour pretty easily with a clean record and clean drug test.

I hope I’m jumping the gun and wrong but from what few responses I’ve gotten, this forum smells like sin and regret... Feels like too many O/O , company hiring personnel and paid trolls man.. Hopefully it’s just a weekend thing. I’m in a weird mood anyway, may just be me.

It does make a guy wonder sometimes. I have my suspicions that a lot of drivers wish they were in the business, or are here just for the sake of running the ones in the business down.

Maybe, what is a paid troll ? I’m dang sure not an O/O or hiring personnel. Just a 4 year driver here. I know my comment early on got under some people’s skin, but I still say trucking is not a skilled trade. Real simply put, you could take 1000 ( insert what ever # you want ) electrical or hvac employees train them for 1 month & probably 99 percent could do our job. Now reverse rolls, take 1000 truck drivers, train them for 1 month in electrical or hvac & cut them loose on million dollar businesses & homes. You think a high percentage could do it ?

Like my granda said, anyone can drive a truck, but there are not a lot of drivers. lol
At one time trucking was a skilled trade, as far as I am concerned, as time went along, trucks became all too easy so folks got in just to be paid to sit behind a wheel, and it went down hill from there.

I have an idea that if you took that same 1000 other trades men and stuck them in an older mechanical truck 90% of them would be wrecked or melted down in the first week or two, some would be before they got out of sight. lol

I make $188 per hour. You can have any girlfriend you want with that. I am currently dating a full time swimsuit model that lives in Miami now.
