How do i finally make Money? *Contract Ending*

    When we first joined crst they had us in motels. For about 3 weeks. Twice a month they take out $40...

    Ahh thats hard to judge.
    Sometimes 30 hours untill next load. Sometime 20. Ect...

    I think the focus of this post is shifting into Math...sorry my first post has confused everyone...
    I originally created this post to gain knowledge from experienced drivers on how to earn more money, team driving tips,companies,drive stamina ect... Maybe there is no secret. Pick a good company and never stop the truck.

    Non-competes are not enforceable. That's a bully tactic that companies use to scare drivers.

    You're absolutely right, @Jay23. Just be sure to pick a company that can support the kind of miles a team can run. A 2000 mile trip is great unless it's a Walmart run with a set appointment time 5 days out.

    As I said in an earlier post, find a carrier with a team division. If you call and they say, "Oh sure, we have a few team trucks," that is not the place for you.

    Also, referencing jbird's post, he is right that you could have dropped CRST long ago. They claim that you won't be able to be hired anywhere else but that's baloney.

    All they can, and will do, I'd put something on your DAC report saying you didn't fulfill your contract and every carrier in the business knows how CRST is and what a horrible contract they have.

    Basically, no one cares what CRST thinks of you because everyone knows what CRST is.

    That being said, you're almost done so it's probably easier to just finish out with them.

    Of course, know in advance that, towards the end of your contract, they will probably offer you a big raise to stay on. Basically promising to stop stealing so much from you if you'll agree to stay.

    If it were me, I would play along so they don't pull some last minute baloney to keep you on the hook for the $8000. Don't tell them that you are leaving. Make sure you get that contract settled and then drop them, no notice.

    Best way to do that, IMO, is to park the truck at a terminal, say for maintenance, then go on home time. Make sure all your paychecks come through and then make the call.

    That way, you won't get hit with some parting shot, "Oh, we kept your last check because you still owe us for the t-shirt we gave you."

    And be sure to get your truck washed and take a bunch of photos of it too. That way, they can't claim damage to equipment.

    I would start looking and talking to other companies now.
    If I understand it right, you are 23 years old, how old is your wife?
    Your age may be a problem, so make sure it isn't before you make any hard decisions.
