    Hello to all.

I have just recently decided to get back into trucking and have decisively settled on Millis. I drove for about 7 yrs OTR between 1993 and 2002 then quit driving to finish raising my children. My mistake that I let my CDL expire. I am seeing now that without recent experience let alone not having a Cdl, that it is very difficult to "Get Back In The Game" so to speak.

I have spent the last three days thoroughly examining what seems like every trucking company on the face of the planet! There are not many taking "New Drivers" right now. My 750,000 logged miles might as well have been zero, they count for nothing. But, so goes the ball when it is dropped.

Anyway, it seems that everywhere I turn on this road of research I keep finding my way back to Millis. So, I called the recruiter and submitted my application online today. I so hope to hear back from them very soon. I am not one to be very patient once I make up my mind to do something lol. I will be burning up their phones if I dont hear from them by tomorrow afternoon!

A couple of questions I would have for you more educated Millis enthusiasts would be...

1.) How long does it normally take them to notify you that you have been accepted to their school?
2.) How long does it normally take to get scheduled for school once they accept you?
3.) Being that I am not hurting terribly for money and dont really have a need for weekly hometime, would it be safe to assume that I could run 30 days at a time?
4.) The fact that I have driven before for an extended period of time and have logged a lot of miles, I may not need the full gammet of OJT with a driver trainer. Do the trainers have the ability to tell safety that you are ready ahead of schedule?

Thanks in advance to everyone who responds!

i am at mti now and from what i hear you have to go throught the school because of insurance reasons than you will be with a trainer for no less than 35 days. it took 3 weeks to get a answer on the school and 3 mo to get in the school . hope this helps

    Baack and Johnk06 Thank this.

Thanks for the help there! I am very anxious to get going, 3 weeks seems like a ling time and 3 months horrifying lol. But, I suppose good things come to those who wait. Patience is a virtue and all that jazz.

I hope your time at the school is as rewarding as it sounds and that you come out polished and ready to go!

    Best of luck to ya.

As far as running 30 days at a time they wont have a problem with that as they will let you stay out as long as you want to. Just when ever you want to go home just turn it in 7 days in advance and they will get you headed to the house when you need to be there.
