Sorry to bother everyone but my wife and her father who is suffering from Cancer was hit earlier today around 10:15 AM on I-55 near South Grand Avenue exit and the truck who hit her left the scene. The State Police are looking for them but all she got was the trailer plates 6565PD and didn’t get the State. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It was a maroon truck with white trailer. My father in law is near the end of his life with cancer and this low life hit them from the rear pushing her van into a pickup hauling a trailer and drove off not even checking to see if they were ok. Even if you just know what State that plate would be from would be helpful.
Looking for 6565PD trailer who hit and ran my wife

what state did this happen in?
I-55 goes thru several states.
also, sorry to hear about your father in law.lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
Good luck with that, there is a bajillion maroon trucks with white trailers on the road... The kind of truck, (volvo,kw,pete) , where it happened, what state, or county.. This is all helpful info, but we are just stupid truck drivers.. The state police would be more help....

some companies may actually register a trailer (and even a truck) in a different state, to save on taxes. many register in the state of Maine, and the actual address can be in Georgia, as an example.
the cops "may" find the plate state, but from there, it might be hard to find the actual company.
remember too, that the number on the plate can be also in many other states, so that can take a whole lot more time. and that is even if she (your wife) got all the numbers and letters correct.Tb0n3, Lepton1, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why can’t the plate be traced to someone in another state? The issuing state or whoever is acting on someone’s behalf doesn’t simply put anonymous on the paperwork.

maybe this lends itself to everyone having a dash cam..??? maybe even a rearward facing cam..??
