Even a typical Canadian spec seems to be heavier than a typical US spec. We are allowed something like 8k lbs gross more on a 5 axle setup IIRC. 46k rears and 3 or 4 way lockers seem to be a lot more common up here (well from what I read on the forums anyways).

& that is the very reason Why Kenworth Who sells the most expensive trucks here in Australia , Also sell the Most number Of Trucks..
over 10-15 yrs everyone else will be on their 3rd (or even 4th) Throwaway Freightliner or whateverOxbow, nevesu, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -

90% of the trucks we order in are 500 or higher hp, 4 way lockers, and an 18 speed. 13s are rare except fleet trucks. Any truck with 4 ways has almost no resale, famers wont buy them. We took a trade from a large fleet and the trucks are sitting in the yard with no one wanting that light of a spec.
I had a truck in from the states today I took for a test drive and kept missing the range shift. #### thing was a 10speed! Didnt even know you could still order one!Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this. -
The hometown haulers are usually spec'd to pull a tri axle trailer or a super B set up which are far more common here than in the states.
These trucks are nearly all spec'd with 15 or 16 litre engines, (Volvo being the exception), Super 40 or 46k rears, sometimes 3:70, but mostly 3:91, 4:10 and even 4:30 rear ratios, 18 spd transmissions, 13,200 lb front axles and 300 gallons of fuel.
I predict in the not so distant future a 10 axle B train, (1+3+3+3), and higher weight limits, at least in western Canada. -
Oxbow Thanks this.
