On a scale of 1 to 10 I would have to give them a 4. I worked there for about six months they promised me alot of home time 2 to 3 times a week plus home on weekends. That is why I choose this company. I went from OTR to Regional to what they called local and still got one day a week home time. They are real picky on their trucks when you go to their main terminal you go straight to a inspection station. While they rip apart the truck you have to report in the office for a drug test or log review which takes 2 to 4 hours of your time. Regardless what your hours of service is at that time. I don't know how to look up my DAC report so I don't know if they reported me on anything or not. But my last paycheck was a whopping $50.00. I don't mean to cry about this company I'm just letting people know what is in store for them at Balyor. If you like being home one day a week than Baylor is a good company.

Not sure about the company side, but my cousin is an O/O and had about a half a dozen trucks leased on to them for years. He would get in on a Saturday and roll out on Sunday though.

there is no possible way on earth that there is a worse company than baylor trucking...this company will dac u if u quit no matter what.i drove for this company for 1 year..delivered 1 load late...quit about 6 months after delivering that load late....now on my dac it says baylor reported me to dac for delivering a load late...how frickin amazing is that...and yes they will tear your truck apart everytime u go back to the terminal..and the mechanics are hoping to god they find somthing to moan and groan about..this company will lie to get u to drive for them..and when u do start with them..u will go to orientation and they will put it to u right in orientation..its there way or the highway...every single time you go back to the terminal u will do a log review after u check in with safety and pull your truck into the inspection bay...this company on a scale from 1- 10 i would give them a 1...very bad company

this company will dac you hard if you quit..i have talked with other drivers who have told me the same thing..u quit then they will start finding ways to ruin your trucking career..and i found that out the hardway...i worked for this company for about a year..and i remember delivering one load late..and it was delivered late because the truck broke down in nashville...so a mechanic came and fixed it..and i showed up a couple hours late..nothing was said to me about it at the time..but..after i quit like 7 months later.they put that on my dac,how these companies get away with doing this is beyond me

I have driven for baylor for about a year in two different times, and each time they ask if you want home or, work on the weekend, if you say home they may not getr you home for an actual reset, they don't seem to care if you want to spend time with your family, on july 4th 2009 i got home at 19:30 just to have to leave on july 5, before 24 hours were even up. they also have left me out for three weeks at a time knowing i wanted to get home. i felt like a slave there, they just kept telling me i didn't need a reset and that the dispatches were legal, they seem to not understand that truck drivers have lives and want to see thier families. they expect you to give your life to them. when they kept me out three weeks, i was telling them i needed to see a dr, they just did not care.

thanks, for the validation. has anyone else notice that the trucks they put you in are not good quality trucks? they are barely legal trucks they are junky, they buy them used from other trucking companies and they are just deplorable.

Odd that two prior posters spoke about how they keep after their equipment.

It is my belief that Baylor is a horrible company. If you want to make money they are great, but as previous posters have mentioned they care little about their drivers. Safety is far to overbearing in general. Operations will allow you to run buckwild if you want to work, but the safety department has not figured,.... (and probably won't figure out) how to juggle safety and profits. I have heard rumour that earnings have been not as expected there in Milan. They cut their drivers pay a while back, and I was there when it happened. A man who cares little about hometime, decent treatment by a safety dept, or quality equipment can still make a decent check though. I made a little more than 42000 in just six months with them, but just like all hard workers the safety department wants to role play as the DOT. All you could see is a trail of smoke into the stratosphere when I left. I still talk to several drivers I befriended while there..... Things have changed a little, but not much.
