Happy Father's Day to all you Fatherly Father types who've done some Fathering.

Spent mine out wrenching on my #### spreader powered Furd. Nothing too fancy, just replaced the CAC and intake plenum boots, new steering damper and new rear shocks. New front shocks won't be here till Wednesday, so I'll do that next weekend along with fixing my A/C and replacing the carrier bearing.

After that I have to decide which side of me is going to win out on injector cup replacement. One side is doing it myself, and the other is being lazy and paying someone else to do it. If I do it myself it'll be an excuse to finally get an air compressor (so I can clear out the cylinders after I pull the injectors). Where I'd put said compressor is anybody's guess since my garage is full.

    First world problems, again.

Back when they built trucks a common man could work on. A true trucker’s truck.

For cleaning fuel off the piston tops, we use a vacuum bottle (I don’t know the proper name). Looks like a pump-up garden sprayer, but it makes a vacuum. Stick the hose into the cylinder and it’ll draw all the fuel off the piston.

Yep, that's what I used when I replaced an injector awhile back. The one thing I miss about being a mechanic for a living was having access to a shop with air, lifts, tons of expensive specialty tools, and waste fluid disposal at my fingertips. Only rule was "don't do anything that you can't finish in a weekend or an evening", as to not block a bay needed for customers.

I'm not up on cumaparts, but cat all you have to do is pull the feed line and return line and let them drain in a bucket and no fuel gets on top.
