The roads here in central Oklahoma aren’t too bad compared to west Texas or Carlsbad area. Don’t get me wrong they can get rough after rains but the county has graders out all the times. Loads won’t be over 80k, will depend on gravity and I don’t run overweight. Too many size and weights Troopers where I run.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Those caliche road surfaces in west Texas are brutal. It's not uncommon to be in low range a couple of hours, with complete stops to ease on down into a crater and you dare not breath.

One more question for you guys. I’m wanting 3.55 or 3.70 gearing for this truck. Problem is most of em in my area are 3.42 and 3.36 gears. Any thoughts on gearing?

I think I would start looking outside the area for a truck, that is too long legged in my opinion.

Well, just a little update. I’m signing papers on my truck tomorrow morning if everything goes right. Want to thank everyone for you input, it helped make my decision.

Sure, this one was $156,400. X15 565 hp, 2050. 18 sp and 3.55 rear. Front disc brakes and leather seats. I contemplated going used at first. This is long term investment for me and trying to keep down time to a minimum.
